What's At Stake?

Tell Congress to Invest in Children

The President proposed:

  • making billions in Medicaid cuts, which will likely result in lower benefits, unaffordable co-pays and hundreds of thousands of kids losing access to health care;
  • canceling the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which provides food to 470,000 elderly people, mothers, infants and children;
  • cutting child care for 400,000 low and moderate-income children;
  • freezing Head Start funding, meaning 19,000 kids will get the boot;
  • reducing the free school lunch program for 40,000 low-income students, and limiting states’ ability to provide food stamps to 300,000 low-income working parents and kids;
  • canceling the Community Food and Nutrition Program; and
  • eliminating the Community Services Block Grant, which supports a wide range of social services and assistance to low-income families.
  • Had enough? Take action!
