Illinois' next state budget should reflect a lesson that every parent knows from experience, and that research confirms: Young children's learning experiences today build a vital foundation for their success tomorrow.

A massive state deficit and a poor national economy certainly present challenges. Yet it's critical that Illinois protect the network of early childhood policies and programs we've assembled to strengthen the healthy development of children from birth to age 5.

Please contact your state senator and state representative today, and ask them to protect our youngest learners.
