Maryland Can Do Better for Children

Maryland is one of the wealthiest states in the nation. Nevertheless, our children are only in the middle of the pack in areas such as education, health, and safety. What does that mean? Far too many children are being left behind. We can open doors of opportunity for our young people, and make Maryland stronger; or we can slam the doors shut.

Some of the solutions we are recommending include:

Keep abused/neglected/delinquent children safely in their homes with good community based services.
Increase access to health insurance and preventive services including dental care.
Provide early and effective interventions for students with academic or behavioral problems.
Help working families to be economically self-sufficient with enhanced programs such as the Maryland Earned Income Tax Credit.

Bottom line: Maryland's children need help, and they need YOU.
