We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Kansas City Child Action Network.

The short explanation of this alert was:

When it comes to balancing a $60 million shortfall in the state budget, we need your help to tell Governor Nixon: protect our most vulnerable Missourians first.

More than 40% of these cuts are currently targeted to children, low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities. These cuts include child care assistance, child abuse prevention and foster care programs, adoption resource centers, inspectors for child care and long-term care programs, and in-home services for seniors. Click here for a list of programs and services at risk of being cut.

Our most vulnerable citizens should be the first protected from budget cuts, not the first to be sacrificed. Sign our petition to Governor Nixon today!
