The short explanation of this alert was:
On February 11th, 2009, advocates from around New York State travelled to Albany in order to meet with legislators and press upon key issues affecting children in New York. Please take the time to send a letter to your own district representative telling them that you support quality childcare and quality Pre-K.
New York State Must:
Restore $30 million in lost child care funding to increase the number of available subsidy slots.
Provide $600,000 for Qualitystars NY, the proposed Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS).
Maintain funding for Pre-K at FY 08-09 levels for two years.
Restore cuts to funding for Healthy Families New York, as well as child welfare preventive spending for home visiting programs.
Please send a letter to your legislator today!
Thank your for your commitment to New York's Children! Your voice is important!
